Urinary dev Flashcards
Tissue sources of urinary system (2)
- Intermediate mesoderm - kidney and ureter
2. Cloaca - bladder and urethra
Order of tissue dev for kidney and uteter
intermediate mesoderm>nephrogenic cord>3 phase of dev
3 phases of nephrogenic cord development and time frame
- Pronephric - week 3-4
- Mesonephric - week 4 to month 4
- Metanephric - week 5 -
Direction of kidney dev.
Cranial>cuadal
Features of pronephric phase
cavitieis form in cord and move caudally
feat. of mesonephric phase
tubules begin to form into duct opposite lumbar area
feat. of metanephric phase
ureteric bud appears and become uerteric mass
derivatives of uretics bud
urine collecting system - calyxes, urteres, pelvis,
derivatives of metanephric mass
urine producing system - nephrons etc
4 problems of comm between metanephric mass and ureteric bud
- bifid ureter
- supernumerary kidney (2 widely sep. urerters)
- crossed renal ectopion (both kidney on one side)
- renal agenisis
direction of kidney migration
up and medial rotation
3 problems with kidney ascent
- accessory renal arts.
- ectopic kidney (doesn’t ascend)
- fused kidney (attached to each other)
Fetal contributions to stasis of amnitoic fluid
Drinking it and peeing it
Steps of bladder dev.
- Urogenital sinus appears
- mesonephric duct enters lat. and allantois enters sup.
- sinus fills with urine and expands
- as kidney ascend pulls mesonephric ducts up into ureters
- Allantois degrades into urachus
when bladder opens onto body cavity
bladder extrophy
