Branches of V2 and openings (7)
- infraorbital - infraorbital fissure
- Sup. alveolar - lateral wall of max. air sinus to upper teeth
- Zygomatic - inf. orbital fissure across orbital floor to lat cheek
- greater and lesser palatine - through greater palatine foramen to palate
- lateral nasal branch - through sphenoalatine foramen to lateral nasal mucosa
- nasopalatine - through sphenopalatine foramen to nasal septum
- phayngeal branch to nasopharynx
Function of V3
Motor - masticators, tensor palatini, tensor tympani, ant. digastric, mylohyoid
Sensory - auricle, ext. aud. meatus, ext. surface of tympanic membrane, lower jaw, floor of mouth, ant. 2/3 of tongue
