anyone who has reasonable grounds to suspect that a child in need of protection must PROMPTY report to childrens aid society
what is ongoing duty to report
anyone with ADDITIONAL REASONABLE GROUNDS shall make a further report even if has already made one
what is delegation
must make report yourself, not delegate
2 parts of medical workup
- evalaution of underlying problems
- lab tests for bruising - evaluate for additional injury
4 labs for additional injury
- labs for occult abdo injury
- skeletal survey
- brain imaging
- optho exam

- child - high needs
- parent - mental illness, cog., medical
- family- chaos, social isolation, lack of support
- context - poverty, culture, religion
- community - poor access to health care, few supports
