meds check
ID patient
ask about allergies
3rd med check
gloves
pick site - prob abdomen
check for bruises
clean area using circular motion moving outward
use non-dominant hand to remove cap
grasp area around injection site
hold needle between thumb and forefinger
use non-dominant hand to steady when it’s in.
grab top of needle w/ dominant hand
slowly inject
withdraw needle and use non-dominant hand to support surrounding tissue
dispose of needle
put bandaid on
don’t massage site
