  3. Lying on middle constrictor
  4. Crossed by hypoglossal nerve

A

Runs forwards deep to Hyoglossus

3rd part

A
  1. Ascends along anterior border Hyoglossus
  2. Lying on genioglossus
  3. Crossed by lingual nerve and submandibular duct
  4. Enters tongue middle as deep artery of tongue (tortuous artery)
  5. Running forwards to tip
  6. Separated from mucosa of tongue lower surface by deep vein of tongue
  7. Supply anterior part tongue
  8. At tip, both lingual arteries anastomose
