2
Q
Optic vesicle development
A
Eyeball develops as hollow diverticulum (optic vesicle) which arises from ventrolateral part of prosencephalon cranial end
3
Q
Optic vesicle elongates
A
- Proximal part: remains narrow to form optic stalk
- Distal blind end: expands and comes in contact with surface ectoderm, it becomes invaginated and converted into optic cup which consists of two layers: outer and inner separated by intraretinal space
4
Q
Optic cup edge
A
Deficient ventrally and this deficiency extends along ventral aspect of optic stalk form groove (choroidal fissure) inside which hyaline artery runs forwards as far as optic cup concavity to end in fetal lens
5
Q
Choroidal fissure
A
Becomes closed by approximation and fusion of the lips
6
Q
Optic stalk
A
Becomes optic nerve
7
Q
Hyalomere artery
A
Becomes central retinal artery
