2
Q
Thyroid lamina
A
- Consists of 2 quadrilateral lamina
- Lamina is fused anterior forming angle about 90 degrees in males and 120 degrees in females
- Fused anterior borders from laryngeal prominence (Adam’s apple)

A
- Upper border
- Lower border
4
Q
Thyroid lamina upper border
A
Shows V-shaped depression in median plane (thyroid notch)
5
Q
Thyroid lamina posterior border
A
- Free
- Extends upwards and downwards as superior and inferior horns
- Lamina outer surface shows oblique line
6
Q
Circoid
A
- Signet ring shaped
- Consisted of narrow arch anterior and broad quadrants lamina posterior
- Forms 2 synovial joints with inferior horns thyroid and arytenoid cartilages
7
Q
Epiglottis
A
Lead like plate of elastic fibrocartilage lying behind tongue root

A
- Free
- Broad
- Rounded
10
Q
Lower part
A
Forms long narrow stalk attached to thyroid angle inner surface by thyroepiglottic ligament
11
Q
Sides
A
Attached to arytenoid cartilages by 2 aryepiglottic fold and Quadrangular membranes
12
Q
Anterior surface
A
- Upper part:
is connected to tongue posterior part by a median and 2 lateral glossoepiglottic folds - Lower part:
is connected to hyoid body by hyoepiglottic ligament
