A
- Near mandible angle
- Below parotid
- By union of posterior division posterior facial (retromandibular) vein and posterior auricular vein

A
- Descends obliquely on sternomastoid
- Then superficial to deep fascia of posterior triangle roof

A
- 1 inch above clavicle
- It pierces deep fascia of roof
- Descends inside posterior triangle to end in subclavian vein

A
- Posterior auricular vein
- Posterior division posterior facial vein
- Suprascapular vein
- Transverse cervical vein
- Anterior jugular vein
- Posterior external jugular vein (drains scalp back and upper part of neck back and joins middle of EJV)

A
Line from point below and behind mandible angle to point at clavicle middle

Applied anatomy
A
- EJV is adherent to deep fascia at point where it pierces it
- If it is injured at this point it will not collapse and air embolism occurs
