Cerebrum Flashcards
1
Q
Contents
A
- 2 cerebral hemispheres: separated by median longitudinal fissures which contains falx cerebri
- Diencephalon
2
Q
Cerebral hemisphere position
A
- Cerebral hemispheres occupy anterior, middle, and upper part of posterior cranial fossae
- The 2 hemispheres are separated from cerebellum by a horizontal Dural fold (Tentorium cerebelli)
3
Q
Cerebral hemisphere surfaces
A
- Lateral (superolateral) surface
- Medial surface
- Inferior surface
4
Q
Lateral surface
A
- Convex
- Related to skull vault
5
Q
Medial surface
A
- Flattened
- Related to its fellow of opposite hemisphere with falx cerebri in between
6
Q
Inferior surface
A
- Irregular
- Divided by lateral sulcus into orbital part which lies on orbit roof and tentorial part which lies on Tentorium cerebelli
7
Q
Cerebral hemisphere borders
A
- Superior (superomedial) border
- Superciliary broder
- Inferior (inferolateral) border
8
Q
Superior border
A
Separates lateral from medial surfaces
9
Q
Superciliary border
A
Separates lateral from orbital part of inferior surfaces
10
Q
Inferior border
A
- Separates lateral from tentorial part of inferior surfaces
- Presents slight depression 2 inches in front of occipital pole (preoccipital notch)
11
Q
Division into lobes
A
Each hemisphere is divided into 4 lobes by 3 major sulci
