stabilize them!!!!!
why are broad spectrum antibiotics given to heat stroke dogs?
gi sloughing & bacterial translocation occurs
what are the sequelae to heat stroke?
coagulopathy, DIC, acute renal failure, bone marrow dysfunction, & multi-organ function
what are some poor prognostic factors for recovery for a dog with heat stroke?
obtunded mentation, coagulopathy, renal failure, secondary organ damage

never using ice or cold water to cool them down - will run the risk of causing hypothermia
what treatments are used to stabilize a heat stroke patient?
