What is the cause of a stress fracture?

A

Over use, loaiing, sudden change in training, surfaces, rhythmic repetitive stress, muscle fatigue, early/pre season trining

What are the symptoms?

A

Pain/swelling, touch sensitive to specific area more acute during the event than after with increase acitiyy

What is the acute stage?

A

Price, saltaps, medical attention for diagnosis and treatment
apply ice
seek x ray
non weight bearing

What is the sub acute?

A

Complete rest/immobilsaiton for 2-3 weeks

What is the rehbilation phase?

A

Further inacitvity for up to 2-3 months to prevent increase and stress on stress fracture
gradual return to exercise,
physiotherapy- posture.alligment, technique, decrease further injury, good fotwear
strength.mobility, stretching, balance
