What is the inverted u theory?

A

Arousla increases so does performance till athlete gets to a zone point, after the zone point. Performer can become over aroused where they’re in a state of panic- optimal point. After this performance decreases.

What is the catastrophe theory?

A

Looks at how cognitive and physiological anxiety affect performance, between high cognitive and high somatic arousal. When cognitive is high but somatic is low performance will be enhanced
