Balanced and unbalanced forces Flashcards
What are the vertical forces?
Weight and reaction
What are the horizontal forces?
Frcition and air resistance
What is the net force?
The overall force acting on a body when all the other individual forces have been considered (resultant force)
What happens when a force is balanced?
Two or more forces acting on a body are equal in size but opposite direction, weight/reaction force. Will be stationary or in uniform velocity (N1)=0
What are unbalanced forces?
when a force acting in one direction is greater than the other, acting in the opposite direction.. The body will be accelerating or decelerating.
Net force= +VE (acceleration) -VE (Decceleration)
What is +VE?
Net force= acceleration
What is -VE?
Decelertion
What law is balanced forces associated with?
Newton 1 (law of inertia)
What newton law is unbalanced forces associate with?
2nd (the law of acceleration)
What can net force also be described as?
Direction of motion, resultant force
What is the frosbury flop?
High jump technique which alters the centre of mass, BODY GOES over in stages so centre of mas goes underneath the bar. can jump over the bar with less effort.
What happens when theres less balance?
Increase acceleration, decrease acceleration and help agility
