Q

How is the control regulated?

A

regulated by an electrical impulse ‘cardiac impulse’

Q

What pulse does the heart create?

A

It’s myogenic, it creates its own pulse

Q

The beginning of the conduction

A

Cardiac impulse is iniated from the SA node in the right atrium
Impulse spreads across both arias, causing contraction (Atrial Systole)
When impulse reaches AV node, signals delayed
Conducted into the bundle of his, down the interventriucular septum.

Q

The end of conduction

A

Bundle of his and purkinje fibres spread impulses along ventricles causing contraction (Ventricular contraction)

Q

Why is the signal at the av node delayed?

A

So the contracting atria have enough time to pump blood into the ventricles.
