Where would you find the biceps brachii?
On the anterior portion of the arm
What does the biceps brachii do?
Flexes the forearm
Where would you find the brachialis?
On the sides of the bicep
What does the brachialis do?
Flexes the elbow
Where would you find the brachioradialis?
On the forearm above the radial bone
What does the brachioradialis do? (3)
- Flexes the forearm at the elbow
- Pronation
- Supination
Where would you find the triceps brachii?
Posterior to the arm
What does the triceps brachii do?
Extends the forearm at the elbow
Where would you find the illiopsoas muscle?
Bottom portion on either side of the spine extending down to the pubic bone
What does the illopsoas muscle do?
Flexes the thigh
- forward towards the trunk
Where would you find the gluteus maximus?
Lower portion of the butt
What does the gluteus maximus do?
Extends the thigh
- posteriorly
Where would you find the adductor group muscles?
Bottom of the pubic bone to the inner side of the femur
What does the adductor group muscles do?
Adducts the thigh
Where would you find the quadriceps group muscles?
Anterior side of the thigh
