Columbia Valley

A

Washington and Oregon AVA east of the Cascades in a rainshow. irrigation required but disease resistant sandy soils, many vines own rooted. Continental climate, hot summers, cold winters, shorter growing season. 11 million acres, over 1/4 of the state. Encompasses most of WA’s AVAs save Columbia Gorge, Puget Sound and part of Lewis-Clark Valley.
