A

1971; previously running from Darmstatdt to Heidelberg (the foot of the Odenwald), initially planted by the Romans and documented as a winegrowing region as early as 773. Political restucturing saw the southern part of Hessische Bergstrasse annexed by Baden, resulting in the current size.
