Torbreck
Winery located in Barossa Valley, holdings are share farmed plots in Barossa and Eden Valley. Est. 1994. Founded by David Powell, former winemaker at Rockford, sold in 2013. Rhone varieties only (Gr, Syr, Mourv, Rous, Mars, Viog). Top wines: RunRig Shiraz (120-160 yo vines co-ferm w/ Viogn), Descendent Shiraz (Single vineyard planted w/ RunRig cuttings co-ferm w/ Viogn), The Laird Shiraz (made from an original Barossa Shiraz clone)
Elderton
The Elderton Vyd (est. 1894) and winery (est. 1982) are located in Barossa Valley. Winery founded by the Ashmead family, Richard Langford is the current winemaker. Elderton Vyd planted to Syr, CS, Merl, addl holdings in Barossa and Eden Valley. Top wine: Command Shiraz (single vyd, estate)
Penfolds
Est. 1844 in Barossa Valley. Top wine: Grange Shiraz (today consists of mainly Barossa Valley fruit)
Grange
Penfold’s famous Shiraz. Created by Max Schubert, 1st vintage was 1951. Originally panned by critics and management. Labeled “Grange Hermitage” until the 1990 vintage, Labeled Bin 95 since 1964. 1990 vintage was Wine Spectator Wine of the Year in 1995. a selection of the best grapes from a number of the company’s vineyards, Hermitage was a popular synonym for Syrah at this time

Henschke
Vyd est. 1862, 1868 first vintage, in Eden Valley. Estate emerged as the premier producer of single varietal Shiraz when 4th generation Cyril Henschke shifted from fortified production in 1952. Top wines: Hill of Grace Shiraz, Mount Edelstone Shiraz

Yalumba
Est. 1849 in Eden Valley, AU oldest family-owned winery, founded by Samuel Smith. Onsite nursery provides vines and rootstock to much of the country.

Barossa Valley, owned by the Hess Group. Makes mostly red wines but most known for two whites: Maragaret Barossa Valley Semillon and Wigan Eden Valley Riesling
