General overview
[378.01] Section 378 provides for the restrictions on the use of certain names by foreign companies. Generally, the registrar is empowered to refuse to register a foreign company under a name that is undesirable, or is identical to the name of any other company (including companies incorporated under the Act), corporation or partnership, or is identical to a name that has been reserved, or is a name that the Minister for Finance has directed the registrar not to register.
