29A. Omission of “Limited” or “Berhad” in names of companies registered under Charities Act

A

General overview
[29A.01] The new s 29A allows a limited company that is registered as a charity under the Charities Act (Cap 37) to change its name to omit the words “limited” or “Berhad” from its name. Apart from this, a charity registered under the Charities Act (Cap 37) has to satisfy the requirements under the Charities Act (Cap 37) and the Act. The accounting procedures for charities are different from profit companies and the Charities Act makes provisions for these differences.
