General overview
[211F.01] The previous legal regime for schemes of compromise or arrangement with creditors is not only brief and skimpy but contained in ss 210 and 211 only. The case of The Royal Bank of Scotland NV (formerly known as ABN Amro Bank NV) & Ors v TT International Ltd and Another Appeal [2012] 2 SLR 213; [2012] SGCA 9, CA tried to set out the ambit of this area of practice albeit not exhaustively. The area of filing proofs of debt by the creditors was not dealt with at all in the previous regime. Hence, s 211F was enacted to handle the proper filing of proofs of debts, etc.
