General overview
[180.01] Section 180(1) provides that a member of a company shall, notwithstanding any provision in the constitution, have a right to attend and speak on any resolution before the meeting. The voting rights attached to equity shares are laid down in s 64, which basically confers one vote on each share held by the member. Further, see s 64 and cases cited therein.
