What needs to take place in order to do a building unlock for an event?

A

You have to find the event and if it is scheduled, the name of the person calling to be let in, whether or not they have access, where they are now.

A

The yellow tab in the flip chart labeled “Daily Sheet”, EMS, and in Google Calendar.

A

Check to see if the door is scheduled to open.

What should you do if it is on the schedule, it is on S2, and the doors are not unlocked or scheduled to be unlocked?

A

Call the command officer and explain there is an event, it is on S2, and ask for permission to unlock the doors through the system. Send an email to Taylor, Chief, and Jayne explaining the situation and that you took care of it.

What should you do if it is on the schedule, it is NOT an S2 door, and the doors are not unlocked?

A

Dispatch an officer and explain there is an event, it is NOT an S2 door, and which doors need to be unlocked. Send an email to Taylor, Chief, and Jayne explaining the situation and that you took care of it.

What else can you ask for if you cannot find it scheduled?

A

You can ask if they have an email confirming the event. If so, dispatch an officer and explain they have an email to show them that will state they are to have the building/room unlocked.

What should you do if it is NOT on the schedule anywhere and the doors are not unlocked or scheduled to unlock?

A

Call the command officer & give them the following information: What event, building, room #, time of event, callers information, that you are not finding it scheduled, if the doors are on S2 or not, & there is nothing scheduled to unlock.

What do you need to do if the command officer says we need to have permission for the building/room to be unlocked in S2, or by an officer?

A

In the flip chart, orange tab “Key Permission”. These are the people who can give approval for buildings and rooms to be unlocked. You will need permission from them. Tell the person who is calling that they need to call that person and that person needs to call us.

What do you need to be sure happens after the event is over?

A

If you opened the doors on S2, be sure to schedule the door to then lock when the event is over. If the officers unlocked the doors, be sure they lock them back up.

What needs to be done if someone says they should have access to a locked room (non dorm) to work, study, ect, on a S2?

A

Check S2 to see if they have that building programmed on their card. If it is, you may have to call Taylor to see what the problem is.

What needs to be done if someone says they should have access to a locked room (non dorm) to work, study, ect, on a NON S2?

A

We will have to have permission from the person in charge of the building to let them into the room. It is in the flip chart. You will then let the command officer know that you did receive permission to let them in.
