Name 2 ways to check to see if we have the property? Which choice should you use when?

Answer 1

Dispatch should send emails to each other when lost property is turned in, that way we can keep track that way. This will be the easiest way. You can also search in CAD if you have a recent date they lost it &/or, dispatch an officer to check for it. If it has been gone several weeks, you will probably dispatch the officer.

Question 2

If a student calls and says they lost property and it is not at BPD, what should you do with the information?

Answer 2

Get a name, ID #, and phone #. Get a description of the property, ask where & when they think they lost it, email to dispatch.

Question 3

Do you need to log a call when someone calls from the emergency phone outside of BUPD?

Answer 3

Yes, all calls have to be logged in CAD.
