HEALTH CENTER / COUNSELING Flashcards
What would you do if you received an after hours call from someone who is sick, running a fever and vomiting, and is not sure what they should do?
Have them call the after hours # 3200. It goes to a call center where they take all of your information and have a nurse call you back.
If you or an officer call the on-call counselor and they do not answer, what is the procedure?
Leave a message and wait for 10 minutes. If they have not called after 10 minutes, dispatch should call Deborah Montgomery Coon on her cell.
Can you give a student or faculty member the after hours counseling #?
No. We need to send an officer to the student whom the concern is about and the officer will get them in touch with the on-call counselor.
What should you do if someone calls about a concern for someone but does not want officers involved?
Give them the # to after hours Health Services (309.677.3200). This will take them to an after hours call center who will take their information. They will then receive a call back from a nurse at the hospital.
