NOTIFICATIONS & SPECIAL CALLS Flashcards
Where can you find all information on all notifications & special calls?
The red emergency book and your training book.
Who do we notify about a power outage?
Notify about a power outage: Duty Sup, OE’s, Police Shift command, Jayne, & IT Service Desk. Call Mike Keene (Ameren) for power outage information, duration/problems. If power outage lasts longer than 15 mins, there is a list in the BIG RED BOOK to call.
Who do we need to notify we have a power surge? Why? What else needs to be done?
Notify the OE’s & police. We also need to contact the IT service desk to let them know we had a power surge on campus. If available, give them the affected areas of the surge.
How would you get a freezer alarm? Who would you call it out to? What if the problem could not be resolved swiftly?
Fire phone; call out to OE 26. If it can’t be resolved, call emergency contacts (red binder under OLH tab/flip chart under red tab labeled OLH/ALC Alarms)/training book (under Alarms tab).
What will be on the door of the OLH freezer if there are experiments inside?
Freezer’s should have the names of those who have experiments in them (make sure we get this information from the OE).
How does a Liebert alarm come in? Who would you send? What else do you need to do?
Fire phone saying what kind of alarm it is and which building & room it is. OE that corresponds to that building. Create a work order and call out.
How does a Halon alarm come in? Who would you notify? What information would you need to give them? What else needs to be done?
Halon alarm comes in through fireworks. If only trouble alarm, notify OE, create WO. If FIRE - contact - Fire Department, send BU police, and OE. Create WO for OE. Create CAD entry.
How would a Nagios alarm come in? Who would you call for that? What else would you do for that?
Comes in by email. We would call the OE (22 for MOR/26 for MAC). Enter a work order and call it out.
How does the Carbon Dioxide alarm come in from Markin? What is the procedure?
SEE THE FORM IN THE RED BOOK UNDER “ALARMS” AND “MARKIN”. Audible alarm - will be called in by someone. Send officers and OE’s. Warn them of situation. Start a CAD entry. Send out a canned message to Markin only to evacuate. Create a WO. Call for fire if officers and/or OE’s request. SEE SHEET! Call the DS & Jayne.
If a Julie comes in that is on Main St., even going down the hill downtown, do we need to pay attention to it? Why?
Yes because we have fiber optics in that area and the electricians may need to mark it.
If a Julie comes in after hours stating “EMER NEW”, and we are not sure if it pertains to Bradley, what should we do?
Contact Leroy if you think it concerns Bradley.
