What are they?

A

Anytime 911 or 9-911 is dialed from a Bradley University phone (a 677 #), the call will go directly to the Peoria PSAP.

How do the calls come in to us?

A

At the same time, we will get a notification on the fire phone with a very distinctive continuous beep until it is answered.

Can you call from a blue light phone?

A

Yes. If the red emergency button is pushed, it is the same thing as dialing 911. Peoria PSAP will answer it.

Will there be someone on the line when you answer it?

A

No, the call goes to Peoria PSAP. This is just a notification for us.

What needs to be taken note of before picking up the line?

A

You need to write down what’s on the display of the fire phone (ex. 02EMG-BEC2170) or (EM=William Porter 4920EM).

What step needs to be taken to acknowledge/reset the system?

A

Before hanging up, push the line it came in on, and then press “exit”. Hang up the phone.

Once you acknowledge/reset the system, are you able to go back and look at the information?

A

No. Once you hit “exit”, the information is gone.

How do you find out where this location is if it is from a blue light phone?

A

Go to the flip chart, red tag “Blue Light Phones”(PULL OUT THE SHEET), look for the correct phone. The exact location is to the right side.

How do you find out where this location is on campus if it is a name and extension?

A

Go into the directory and type in the name or extension. Click on it and this will give the building & room #.

A

Peoria PSAP should call us to tell us they received the 911 call and pass on the information. Note in CAD that did or did not receive a call from them or had to call them.

A

Pass the information onto the officers that they did call and give them the information they passed on. Note in CAD that did or did not receive a call from them or had to call them

Call Peoria PSAP and ask if they received a 911 call from Bradley. Pass onto the officers that we had to call them and the information they gave you, as well as noting it in CAD.

Would we get a 911 Notification from a blue light phone at MSC?

A

No. The only #’s that we get a 911 notification for are Bradley 677 numbers. The MSC blue light phones are not Bradley #’s, so they go straight to 911, who will then call us.
