Q

(Keys Carried Forward) What 2 steps do you take when someone checks out a key from the box? When it comes back in?

A

Fill out a yellow tag with the person’s name (& company if needed), date & the key # we’re giving out; hang that in the corresponding keys spot. Then, go into the BU Workorder Database system & click on “Keys Carried Forward.” At the bottom across from “Record”, click on the far right arrow with the yellow dot next to it (says new (blank) record when hovering over it), then put in the key #, name of the person checking key out (& company if needed). When a key is returned, find the #, click “Key Returned,” & then hang the key back up in its place. Clean off the yellow tag and place it back in the bucket.
