MEDICAL CALLS FOR SERVICE Flashcards
If immediate medical assistance is needed, what information do you need to get?
Location, m/f, age, problem, conscious/alert/breathing, code 1 or 2.
What do you do with the caller as soon as you get the information?
Conference the call to the city letting them know you have officers enroute. Give city the above information and conference the caller in. Stay on the line. Hit mute while city is talking to them. After they are done, get back on the call and stay on to update officers of the situation until they get there.
How many officers do you send? If you or someone else already contacted city for an ambulance, what should you tell the officers when you dispatch them?
2 officers. Advise them that you or someone else already contacted city for an ambulance and it was on the way.
If immediate medical assistance is not needed, what do you need to do with the caller? Why?
Keep the caller on the line so you can get an update and pass it onto the officers as you get it. Tell the officers to advise on AMT.
