Pop start, vehicle unlock, officers find the dome light on, windows down, or doors unlocked

What do you do when someone walks into Macmillan and asks for a pop starter?

You ask for their student ID. Get into the bottom drawer and get a slip out of “Pop Start” folder. Have them sign it. Give them the pop starter. Hold onto their ID until they bring it back.

Name 7 pieces of information you need to get from a caller who needs a pop starter/vehicle unlock?

Phone #, ID #, name, specific location, vehicle information, is it their vehicle, are they with it now? If it is a pop start, have them pop the hood.

How do you dispatch an officer for a pop starter/vehicle unlock?

Answer 4

Call it out as a pop start or vehicle lot. Give the location (including front/back, deck level ect.) and vehicle information (make, model, color, license plate).

No, but if they are concerned for their safety while changing it, maybe due to traffic, we will send an officer for that.
