What is a “Let-In”?
When someone locked their key or ID inside or do not have it with them.
Who do we send if a student locked themselves out of a dorm during business hours? After hours?
Call the dorm office to see if anyone is there first. Next, call housing if it is during business hours. After business hours, call an RA (try several - it does not have to be an RA on the same floor) in the building to let them in. ONLY send an officer if you are not able to get a hold of the above. Be sure you note that you tried the above with no results.
What needs to be verified before sending an officer?
Verify their address to be sure they live there. If student, verify their home address and B-day. If a faculty member, verify their home address.
Why should you ask where their ID is?
If they lost it they need to come get a temporary ID.
Why do you need to know where the student is?
So you can tell the RA or officer where to meet them. PLUS, you need to be sure they are at the building. If not, they need to call back when they get there and then you can send the officer.
Will we let a professor into another professor’s office?
Only with permission from the professor who the office belongs to.
Will we let a student into another student’s dorm or apartment?
No
Can we assist a student who lives in a non Bradley house with getting into the house if they locked the keys inside? What do they need to do?
No. They need to contact their landlord.
Will we let a student into the Main Street Commons? Why or why not?
No. Contact MSC or the on-call #.
Will we let someone into an academic building if they left their belongings inside?
We will have the officer escort them into the building to get their belongings and then escort them out.
What do we need to tell the officer in this situation?
That they left their belongings and need to be escorted in and out.
