What 3 things need to be done to the IDA list when one is assigned?

A

Put the officer who’s taking the report, highlight the IDA #, put the date the IDA was issued.

What do you do if an officer calls back and says they do not need the IDA assigned to the call?

A

Memo the officers # with “VOID the IDA” in CAD and put “VOID” over the IDA on the clipboard.

When looking at a call, how can you tell which officer took the IDA?

A

By the end of each call that has an IDA, it is the dispatcher’s responsibility to be sure there is a “P” for Primary in front of the officer who took the report.

How do you change the primary officer in a call?

A

On the Console line at the bottom, type in “P 2##” (officer who is taking the report).

What else does the dispatcher need to do when an officer calls in for an IDA?

A

When an officer calls for an IDA, they should tell you what it is for also. So, dispatch should have “M 2## IDA FOR OTHER INVESTIGATION, THEFT, DC, ect…” Then when someone looks back on the call, they will see who took the IDA and will know who did the report.
