Where can you find all the information on the key box?
Your training book.
What is the difference between a key dorm key and other building keys?
Dorm keys don’t have small #’s on them; other building keys do.
Who can pick up key # 42? Where can you find a list of all 3 names?
Steve Lynn & Amber Smithers. The key can also be given out to whoever Rose or Tracy give permission to. The 2 names can be found in the Authorized Key Pickup binder on Weston side.
How can you find out which dorm and room a dorm key goes to?
Grab the “Dorm Core Lists” binder (behind Jill’s desk). Match the # on the key to the core in the binder; this will also tell us what dorm & room # the key goes to. Then, pull up the “Telephone Directory”. Search by dorms, find the room #, & that will tell us who’s in that room & who the key(s) belong to.
Where can you look to see if a monitor is authorized to pick up a key for a building for their shift?
The “Authorized Key Pickup” binder above the Weston computer. Turn to the building they are going to.
Which keys are only for Student Security? How do you know who can pick one up? When does it need to be returned?
Student security keys: There is a cheat list inside of the red keybox, 223 through 230. It usually is an RA or ARA or Community/Resident Director (reslife worker). Key should be returned immediately after the shift or the next morning.
What is the ZJ key? When is it picked up?
The ZJ Key is for the ResLife weekend supervisor to pick up a Friday night and returned on Sunday.
When do all keys from the key box need to be returned?
When the person is done using it for the day/their shift. They cannot leave campus with it still in their possession. Students should return keys when they’re done with a shift/project/etc.
(Key Box) Name 3 things you need to do when someone checks out a key from the key box.
Check to see if they’re authorized in the “Authorized Key Pickup” book, fill out a yellow tag, log the key on in BU Workorder Database under “Keys Carried Forward”.
How can you determine which van to give out and what information do we need?
In the “Vehicles” binder above the Weston computer, find the date on the calendar. Find out who is driving and which group. It will tell you the van # and times they are scheduled. Verify they are an authorized driver in the “Authorized Drivers” list. Get a clipboard and key. Fill in the top of the clipboard with the date, scheduled time, group, drivers name, & van #. Fill out a yellow tag with their name, date, key #, & group. Log it into the BU Workorder Database under “Keys Carried Forward”. Hang the yellow tag in the red key box where the key corresponds.
How do you know someone has permission to pick up a key from DMC?
Check in the “Authorized Key Pickup” binder, under DMC.
