What do you say when the employee answers the phone?
“This is the Bradley University Police, we received a panic alarm, please follow procedure.”

Immediately relay that information to the officers. The dispatcher will not disconnect the call, stay on with them until they hang up.
What should happen after the employee calls back?
The employee who activated the panic alarm should disconnect the call (dispatch will not disconnect the call, stay on with them until they hang up) and immediately call BUPD back and advise it is a false alarm. They will state their name and meet the officer at the alarm.
What should you do if the employee calls back and says it is a false alarm?
Update the officers enroute to the call that you have made contact and it is a false alarm. Have one officer continue in to reset the alarm and file an incident report.
What should the employee do if it is a real emergency?
The employee will do nothing after hanging up. Advise the officers that you have made “no contact”.
What should you do if the employee feels it is safe calls back and says they need police? Should you keep them on the line?
Update the officers that it is a real alarm, you are speaking with the employee, and pass on additional information from the caller as to what is going on. Keep them on the line until officers get there.
