Benzathine penicillin every 3-4 weeks.

Anti-inflammatory therapy with NSAIDs (Naproxen/Ibuprofen preferred) given at a high dose for 1-2 or 6-8 weeks.

Used if there is any evidence of persistent infection, examples include penicillin V, benzathine benzylpenicillin, amoxicillin.
How is symptomatic heart failure treated in rheumatic fever?
Treated with diuretics and ACE inhibitors, prednisolone may be required.
What should be done after the acute episode of rheumatic fever?
Recurrence should be prevented.
