Safe Actions: Various training actions, such as taking a step sideways, moving to range cover, and tactical kneeling that is conducted on the range are acceptable providing they are safe actions and part of the course of fire. Due to the location of the Firing Range and the distance from emergency medical services, it is important to designate two people to transport the injured individual in the event of an injury, if it is potentially life threatening. This includes clearing the back seat of their vehicle and ensuring these persons know the directions to the nearest hospitals and fire station listed below:
(1) The closest hospital is Baptist North, 11250 Baptist Health Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32218. The directions to the hospital are: Head south on Lannie Road; turn left on Lem Turner Road, headed toward I-295. Turn right (South) on I-295 to Dunn Avenue exit. Turn left (East) on Dunn Avenue. Turn left on Baptist Health Drive;
(2) The next closest hospital is UF Health Hospital, 15255 Max Leggett Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Directions are as follows: Head South on Lannie Road; turn left on Lem Turner Road; turn left (North) on I-295; merge onto I-95 North. Exit onto Max Leggett Parkway (Exit 363A); turn left onto Max Leggett Parkway; and
(3) The Garden City Fire Station (Station 34) is the closest Fire station. Head South on Lannie Road; turn left at Lem Turner Road, and travel South to Dunn Avenue; take a right (West) on Dunn Avenue; drive three blocks, and turn right (North) on Ross Boulevard. Fire Station 34 can be seen from Dunn Avenue. and has a physical address of 11248 Ross Boulevard.
Damage to property or injuries that occur when Range Staff is not present, must be reported to the………………. as soon as practical.
