State Attorney’s Office (SAO)
Prior to releasing any un-redacted JSO records containing protected information of victims of sexual battery, aggravated child abuse, aggravated stalking, harassment, aggravated battery or domestic violence, the ………………….. will ensure the victim has signed a Violent Crime Acknowledgement Form (P-0720) authorizing the release to victim service providers.
Victim Advocate
When a crime victim submits a claim to receive benefits through the Florida Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Victim Compensation, officers or detectives may receive a “Law Enforcement Information Reporting Form” from the Bureau of Victim Compensation, via the JSO Records Unit, requesting information specific to the reported crime. Personnel receiving this form shall:
a. Promptly complete all sections of the form and forward it to the JSO Victim Advocate.
b. The Victim Advocate shall review the form for accuracy and will forward the form to the Bureau of Victim Compensation.
c. When an officer/detective enters any information on the form that would disqualify the applicant from receiving compensation, an Investigations Division …………………….and/or ……………….., or above, must review the circumstances of the disqualifying information prior to forwarding the form to the Victim Advocate. Disqualifying information includes the victim’s failure to cooperate with law enforcement, the victim participating in an unlawful activity at the time of the incident, and/or the victim contributing to the infliction of injuries by his own conduct.

A JSO chaplain will be available, when requested, to perform any or all of the following:
a. Notify the employee’s family or next of kin of the death or injury in a timely, personal manner;
b. Assist the family at the hospital;
c. Support the family at the funeral and burial;
d. Help the family with legal and benefits matters by making appropriate referrals;
e. Counsel the family regarding finances and other possible problems by making appropriate referrals;
f. Support the family during criminal proceedings, if any; and
g. Maintain long-term contact with the family and keep informed of the family’s needs.
The JSO policy is to refer……………………….. to social service diversion programs when appropriate.
- Employees, in the course of performing their duties, should provide timely and accurate information to members of the community in need. Public Service Information Pamphlets issued to employees should be used as a guide. Employees shall be knowledgeable as to available social service agencies that can be used for assistance.
- Employees shall determine if the needed services are available, if JSO is ready, willing, and able to provide the needed services, and under what conditions the services can be provided.

“…………………………….” is a program designed by the SAO in conjunction with Hubbard House to assist victims of domestic/dating violence who are in an immediate crisis situation and require emergency shelter. Officers who come in contact with such victims will, in addition to completing the necessary reports:

If the victim is without transportation and is unable to obtain transportation, transport the victim to the Hubbard House facility. When transporting or referring a victim to the Hubbard House, reporting officers will indicate in the Incident Report the victim was transported or referred to a “……………..”. No mention of the Hubbard House shall be made. When transporting or escorting a victim or family member(s) to Hubbard House, the reporting/transporting officer will request that NCIC contact the shelter by telephone to advise that an officer is en route.

Address Confidentiality Program
1. The State of Florida’s Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) assists victims of domestic violence who are attempting to escape actual or threatened violence. Participants are provided with a substitute mailing address in order to prevent their abusers from finding them.The participants must be victims of domestic violence and:
a. Fear for individual or child’s safety because of an abuser’s threats or actions;
b. Reside in Florida;
c. Have relocated or are willing to relocate; and
d. Be willing to advise the ACP office of the mailing address.
