Abrasions

Avulsion
occur when a part of the body is compressed with extreme force between two surfaces
Crushing Injuries
result when a pointed or sharp foreign object penetrates the soft tissue
Puncture Wound
results when a sharp object cuts the skin and possibly underlying soft tissue
Lacerations
in the ear typically range from bugs, pebbles, and bits of cotton to anything small enough to fit in the ear canal
Foreign Bodies in the Ear
are objects that would not normally be found in the eye. bugs, rust, dust, sand, hair, small pieces of metal
Foreign Bodies in the Eye
foreign material that is cause obstruction in the nares
Foreign Bodies in the Nose
are the result of thermal insults to tissue. heat, chemical source, electrical sources, or radiation
Burns
is an injury that occur as the result of exposure to or contract with electricity
Electrical Shock
injuries occur when an individual is struck directly or indirectly (splash effect) by lighting
Lightning Injuries
occurs when an individual’s core body temperature is much higher that the normal body temperature of 98.6F
Extreme Heat (Hyperthermia)
is a generalized cooling of the body in which the core temperature of the body drops below 95F
Extreme Cold (Hypothermia)
extreme cold tissue, usually on the face, ears, fingers, and toes
Frostbite
is the puncture of the skin by the bite or sting of any insect or arthropod, which may involve the injection of venom into the tissue of the individual
