Ja, ich habe einige Erfahrungen in Italien, in den USA (in zwei verschiedenen Staaten) und in der Schweiz gesammelt.
In Italien war mehr direkt der Adv auf der Straße zu sehen, in der Nähe der Wohnung.
Im anderen Fall habe ich im Internet gesucht.
zweimal ziehen wir ohne einen Besuch der Wohnung (Wohnungsbesichtigung) ein, weil wir auf der anderen Seite der Welt waren.
Ich denke, der schwierigste Reaserch war in der Schweiz, weil Sie sich für eine Stelle bewerben müssen. Vielleicht sogar noch schwieriger.

In Italy was more to see directly the adv on the street, nearby the apartment.
In the other case I did search in internet.
twice we move in withoua even a visit of the apartment because we were in the other side of the world.
I think the most difficult reaserch was in Switzerland because you have kind of apply for a job. Maybe even mor difficult.

- Wie weit ist der Bahnhof/ der Supermarkt/ die Apotheke entfernt?

Das sind typische Fragen, die man stellen sollte, um mehr über die Mietbedingungen herauszufinden.
Ask about the rental conditions
