Most cases it’s NOT necessary. Window bars & child gates must be removed
Who shall Off of HRN communicate w/to ensure HRN is being operated efficiently
Spotter operating from exterior of bldg
If multiple rooms are involved what is done w/HRN
Start w/window that wind is blowing into & extinguish fire in this room 1st. Then move to other windows downwind of original fire room
HRN repositioning process:
Supply line shut down at shut off 1 length back from noz. Noz opened & bled. Once in position, Off will order water started. Off then notifies IC. IC MUST give approval to open HRN
_ blades will cut through gravel & tar covered roofs, wood flooring, light sheet metal, & similar material.
Carbide tip (Do NOT use on metal security doors, auto bodies, metal window bars & case hardened locks)
_ blades will cut through steel- auto bodies, metal security doors, metal window bars, etc
_ will cut through concrete & masonry material
Aluminum oxide

Saws full fuel tank is sufficient for _ minutes continuous operation
Proper gasoline-oil mixture for saws
20-30 minutes
1 1/2 small containers (4.8 fluid ounce oil) w/1 gallon fresh gasoline
Return Carbide tipped blade to Tech Services when _/more tips missing/broken
Return Aluminum oxide blade _
8/more tips
8”/less diameter
Physical communication between Guideman & Operator w/saw
One slap on back= Stop cut
Two slaps on back= Cut
Three Slaps on back= Shut down saw
Circle of Danger Partner Saw
Members inside Circle of Danger
20’ radius from point where blade of saw is in operation
Officer, Operator, & Guideman
Stance used when cutting w/saw
Boxer’s stance w/feet 18-20” apart & either foot forward
Carbide tip vs Abrasive Disc Cut
Carbide rev up to full RPM before contacting surface w/blade.
Abrasive run at low speed & gradually increase as cut works into material
How shall Roof be cut
Whenever possible, roof boards & coverings shall be cut in one operation & lifted in one piece. If not possible remove roof covering first, then roof boards
If excessive resistance to saw is encountered, the cut may be
On the beam. Sparks are a good indicator. Move inside of the cut
Fresh smoke coming from area of saw blade & slowing of blade usually indicates
Can the sling of the saw be used w/saw operating
Too deep of cut. Cut through heavy material. Remove saw, rev up RPM, & begin shallower cut
No- must be removed before starting saw
How can you ID Silicon Carbide Blade
Inspect Hurst tool
Is the LW battery powered cutting & spreading tool intrinsically safe
Yellow paint on both sides of blade
Daily & after use
NO
What tool is an excellent power source for all Hurst tools when working in explosive atmospheres, confined spaces, & for delicate operations
Hurst Manual Hand Pump (Do NOT use w/Telescopic Ram)
Connecting couplings: If male is smaller than female _;
If Male is larger _ is used
Increasor
Reducer
Multiversal: Does the portable ground base have to used
Multiversal Elevation range
Only if Multiversal is removed from rig mount & operated in portable position
90 degrees above horizontal to 15 degrees below horizontal
Multiversal Stop-lock & Release Pin prevents lowering elevation below _ degrees above horizontal unless pin is pulled

Stacked tips friction loss on Multiversal
Do Utility ropes have to be used w/Multiversal or is the Safety Chain sufficient
1 1/4” 100 psi, 1 1/2” 70 psi, 2” 50 psi
Utility ropes must be used (Over-Under-Over) & tied to substantial objects. Safety chains augment only
How shall Multiversal be supplied
Use of 2 HL’s recommended. Bring back 15’ from Siamese parallel to each other before making bends
Multiversal shall not be operated at more than _ GPM
