Is it mandatory to report smoke
No, but if volume is unusual or smoke conditions presenting a problem- it should be included
Auto Exposure
conditions where fire can spread within structure window-window & floor to floor
Building separated by more than _’ from fire building should not be ID as an exposure unless volume of fire/complexity of incident causes exposure problems
More than 30’
Taxpayer w/9 individual stores or 9 subdivisions, with a fire located in the center- the store to the immediate left is _, and the 3rd store to the left is _, and the 4th store to the right would be _

No it should be used to enhance our ability to ID exposures. Roof FF or FFs in rear of building may not be able to view/ID occupancies if using only plainspeak
Buildings separated by how many feet from the fire building should not be identified as exposures unless the volume of fire or complexity of the incident causes an exposure problem? A. 20 feet B. more than 20 feet C. 30 feet D. More than 30 feet
D. Buildings separated by more than thirty feet from the fire building should not be identified as exposures unless the volume of fire or complexity of the incident causes an exposure problem. Communications Ch 10 Add 2, 2.1
Tip: Know your numbers! It may be easier to remember it as 31 feet or more.
