In order to be in service as CFR Unit- there shall be minimum of _ trained members (FF or Off) w/current certification
2 trained members (During the tour- CFR staffing can reduce to 1 FF and 1 Officer and unit will still be available for CFR responses)

Request ETA for EMS but NO Unit available
Without _ CFR certified members company shall NOT respond to any CFR calls, but may still be dispatched for verbals

If unable to respond to CFR runs, what must Off do?
Notify Dispatcher & Battalion. Enter event in company journal (at change of tours Unit status defaults to normal CFR status)
Non-breathing or Cardiac arrest patient: Begin resuscitation efforts unless “gone to see the LORDDD”
Lividity, Obvious death, Rigor mortise, Decomposition, DNR, Doctor willing to sign death certificate
Officer shall assign CFR responsibilities “A B C D E”
Airway- stabilize pt spine, open airway, & administer O2. Cardiac arrest- begin ventilation & carry O2 bag
Boss, Checker- checks pulse, compressions, & carries trauma bag
Defib/Documentation- PCR & hook up Defib
Equipment: 5 FF Eng remains w/rig & carries add’l equipment needed
(Chauffeur & Non-CFR trained members remain w/rig)
If you visualize a patient, but do not offer any assistance, does a PCR need to be filled?
Yes. Visualize patient= PCR
If forced entry is needed to gain access to patient, what must Off do?
What if others within the premise deny access to patient?

What if a patient Refuses Medical Assistance (RMA)- does a PCR need to be filled
Ensure patient is alert & oriented, encourage to remain on scene until arrival of EMS, & notify Dispatcher.

In service/out of service for fire duty/CFR duty if
A) FF needs Decon;
B) Equipment needs Decon
OOS for fire duty and CFR duty for both scenarios
In Service or OOS if supplies expended & company does NOT have minimum required amount
In service for fire duty & OOS for CFR. Notify Battalion & Dispatcher. Immediately replace equipment & notify Dispatcher when available for CFR
If a suspected crime is in progress, can FD intervene & perform medical care
Do NOT attempt to enter a scene if there is personal risk to personnel prior to arrival of PD. Request PD & confirm arrival before intervening to begin medical care.
If during a CFR response- a verbal for a different sick/injured person is received, what shall the Engine do?
Notify Dispatcher & make every attempt to make patient contact. If contact made w/2nd patient, Company shall NOT leave scene until relieved by EMS
Do units have to fill out PCR’s for dead patients
