AUC 271, 274, 277, 299 Flashcards
Units directed to respond to an incident w/possible EDP shall _
Notify Dispatcher to request a 10-47 for possible EDP. Nearest BC shall be dispatched as well
Person threatening to jump from a window, ledge, bridge, etc…Primary Concern _
Safety of persons using sidewalks & streets below
Shall any attempt by FD Units be made to forcibly restrain an EDP?
How about in regards to Forcible Entry
No attempts unless a direct threat of physical harm to members of Dept.
No Forcible Entry until arrival of PD, unless clear indication of fire or other imminent danger
Satellite Unit is made up of _
A Satellite apparatus & companion 2000 GPM Eng Company (or designated BU Eng)
Primary Purpose of Satellite Unit:
Provide IC w/dependable high volume supply of water
Does the Satellite Apparatus have pumping capabilities
No
Officer of 1st arriving Satellite Unit will become _;
Primary Concern of this Officer _
Water Resource Officer;
Consult & advise IC on water delivery matters
Satellite Water System will place supply manifolds in close proximity to operation. Water is delivered via _” hose over long distances
5” hose
When connecting multiple hose lines on Satellite Apparatus for use, care must be exercised to assure they are connected in proper sequence so as to eliminate need to shut down in order to augment the supply to deluge gun. Use the _ inlet 1st
Unchecked inlet 1st which will permit use of gated inlets to augment supply w/o necessity of shutting down
Units of Satellite Water System respond with pumper & Satellite apparatus. Each shall be staffed with at least _ FF’s & Officer shall ride with _
At least 2 FF’s; Officer rides with Pumper
Water Resource Officer shall establish HT communication w/IC of fire through established communication lines. Priority would be through _
Field Communication Unit if on scene
Do Satellite Units carry foam?
Satellite Units carry HI-Ex foam generators & ample supply of 5 gal cans of HI-Ex foam concentrate
Satellite pumpers carry Foam Injection Metering Module (FIMM) & Modified Angus Foam Cannon that may be mounted on a Satellite deluge gun or TL. These can produce a stream of foam reaching horizontally _
250’ from Satellite Deluge Guns & 300’ from TL Monitors
Satellite pumper operating at draft or supplied by fireboats are capable of delivering at full capacity. When hydrants main size is less than _” it’s recommended a 2nd hydrant or another pumper augment supply of water
Less than 12” main
How shall shut down occur with appliances supplied by Satellite pumpers
Shutting down should always be initiated at 2000 GPM pumpers & after consulting w/Satellite Off or Chauffeur (except manifolds protected by Ross Relief Valves). This prevents full Engine pressure being transmitted through a HL
How are Satellite runs recorded on CD-14
Satellite units shall maintain a separate CD-14 for recording Satellite responses. A response for Satellite Units is recorded as a run for Satellite Unit & for Engine company. Forwarding CD-15 will only be req’d for Satellite Unit
How often shall Satellite Unit & BU unit drill
1st Saturday of every month replacing MUD. The Foam Carrier & Tender shall participate every 1st Saturday of every other month
Twin Hydrant Hookup painted red are _
Satellite Hydrants on large mains for rapid connection for 5” supply hose
Can Engines use the twin Satellite Hydrant to hook up to
Should avoid
What is an ABR school
School with 1/more non-ambulatory students, contains req’d holding area, & has a written fire drill and evacuation plan
ABR In-Process school:
Not substantially in compliance & may have non-ambulatory pupils. An ISP is req’d & regular fire drills
What shall 1st Off do for emergencies at ABR schools
Immediately contact principal or person in charge regarding status &/or location of all non-ambulatory students
Each student’s plan for ABR In-Process & Non-ABR schools will contain what info
Name of student, Location of student throughout the day, Name of staff member to evaluate student, & Name of BU staff members in event designated staff member absent/out of bldg
Each firehouse will have _ temporary front pieces for Officers & FF’s
1 Off & 3 FF front pieces
Where shall temp front pieces be secured
Company Commander will designate area for temp front pieces. OOD at roll call shall account for them
