OOD shall notify contractor he will be held accountable while his personnel are working in qtrs during absence of unit

If using a Chain saw from a TL, can the operator put 1 foot out of basket to perform cuts
No- both feet within the basket (CR: Partner Saw- may put 1 foot on a roof)
What is done if a child request assistance from firehouse for Fire CAP
OOD shall notify Dispatcher company is OOS operating at a Verbal to assist a child. Request PD. Company Journal entry shall include child name & ID of Police Officer left in charge
What if child abuse is suspected
Immediately request response of PD, an FDNY EMS supervisor, & an ambulance via Dispatcher. Ambulance crew responsible for Mandated report
Abandoned Infant Protection Act: Mother/Father could avoid criminal prosecution if they deliver the infant _
Not abused & not more than 5 days old. Members not req’d to determine if infant less than 5 days old
Who shall fill out the Mandated Report for Abandoned Infants

Procedures for a parent dropping off an infant at the firehouse
OOD shall immediately contact Borough Communication Office, request ambulance, & inform Dispatcher that unit is in custody of abandoned infant. Unit OOS 10-99 until ambulance assumes custody
What kind of info can FD members obtain from parents of infant
Members may inquire if infant has any medical problems &/or been seen by a physician. If parent refuses to answer, no further interaction
Dispatcher has notified OOD that a report for an infant has been reported at firehouse. OOD immediately ordered a diligent search of area immediately adjacent to qtrs & result was negative. What is done now
OOD shall notify Dispatcher, Journal entry made, & Unusual Occurrence Report forwarded indicating area searched and results of search

Yes can be worn dry, damp, or saturated

Upon feeling any pain/discomfort through the hood, unless area can be immediately cooled by HL
Bunker gear donning order
Pants & Boots, HT, Hood completely over your head before putting on bunker coat, Bunker coat, Push hood from head onto back of your neck
Are members allowed to respond without donning full PPC
In hot weather if rig as NO AC, coats & hood may be dispensed with for structural runs. Non-structural runs: in hot weather no coat or hood while responding (includes CFR runs)
Recommended technique when members encounter heat conditions which are felt through the bunker pants or operations involving areas where water has accumulated

If Bunker Gear needs to be washed in Decon sink in qtrs what procedures must be followed
Water temperature not to exceed 105 degrees F, only mild detergents used, & Never use chlorine or bleach.
Protective hood shall be washed in _
Lukewarm water using liquid detergent. Do NOT use soap or chlorine bleach. Never wring out water of hood. Squeeze water out
Gloves shall be washed _
Hand or machine wash with mild detergent soap & water. Do NOT use bleach. Allow gloves to dry naturally inside & out. Do NOT machine dry or dry gloves on radiator
What if Loaner Gear is needed _
Obtained from SOC. Call via telephone. Fill out form faxed by SOC & contact Division messenger to pickup loaner at SOC
Inspect hood for tears, discoloration, stretching, open seam _
Start of each tour and after use
What are 2 separate procedures for delivering bunker gear to Quartermaster for member who has incurred a burn injury
Affected member does NOT require ML for a burn- Division messenger shall deliver gear to Qtr Master; Affected member does require ML for burn- gear tagged, OOS, & Safety Battalion contacted. Safety Battalion will arrange for collection of gear
PPE or Work Duty Uniforms contaminated w/large amount of body fluids- procedure for decon
Double sealed clear plastic bag w/bio haz label attached placed in light traffic area (remote location) on apparatus floor awaiting collection by SOC. Marked w/member’s Name, Assigned Unit, & Nature of Contamination
