Name the 2 types of Primary Removal procedures
Check Electrical contacts (must deactivate emergency Stop button first or this won’t work) and
Fireman Service Phase I (overrides Emergency Stop Button)
Secondary & Emergency Removal require power removal. 2 FFs sent to machinery room (Location)
Top of shaft, Bottom of shaft, or 2 levels above highest fl serviced by elevator
T/F Elevator shall Never be jacked up or moved in an upward direction

Ways to locate elevator “MR LITCH”
Machinery Room floor selector (gives exact location), Lobby control panel- floor indicator, Intercom/telephone of stuck car, Top hatch of elevator in same bank, Counterweight for approx location, Hoist way door at 1st fl and look up.
Which method of removal does NOT need power removal & which procedure does need power removal
Primary= No Power off;
Secondary & Emergency= Power Off
If using a Top Hatch Removal- lower a _ ladder to elevator roof w/a max of _ FF’s on car roof at one time secured with LSR
Straight ladder if possible (If Ext lad used tie halyard around rungs of both sections of ladder). Max 2 FF’s. 1 FF enters the car & determines order of removal
If using side exit removal- which car gets power turned off?
Planks of sufficient length _’ or longer used as a bridge. Power restored to rescue car after passenger removed
Both occupant & rescue elevator car;

Last Resort: Forcible entry of elevator. Preferred tools “ARF” for sliding doors

Phase I Recall Phase: recalls all elevator in bank to street or terminal floor automatically or manually. How is it done Manually vs Automatically?
Manual Off, On “MOO”
Automatic Door Open “ADO” (landing smoke detectors/water flow from a sprinkler system)
NOTE: HVAC will NOT recall elevators
During Phase I Recall: will Emergency Stop Buttons Work
