Street shut down of hydrant- remove cover & place wrench of fitting turning _ times
Counterclockwise 17 times. Around 12 turns noticeable decrease in water flow.

What info is given to Dispatcher for downed wires “LAP”
Location, Address, Pole number & request forthwith power removal & priority response by utility company. Request BC if not assigned
Can FD move electrical wires if immediate life threatening conditions
No- take NO action removing electrical wires from people &/or vehicles until De-energized by utility company
How many feet w/HL from downed wires
At least 25’ with fog nozzle
Can substations be entered by FD units
Unless human life is in jeopardy, do NOT enter substation until arrival of power company rep. No metal tools/ladders
Oil burner control is generally painted red & located _ in PD’s & _ in OLT, brownstones.

Utility rope- same for securing roof rigging

No- all operations shall be from within the building or roof level
Yes if stranded on a windowless side of the bldg: Lower from above
If the Roof team determines safety lines are suspect, what shall they do?
Lower LSR to workers & attach them to workers harnesses
If the wire rope hoist line is jammed within unit- can it still be used?
If jammed- Never allow workers to attempt to continue to operate the hoist
Last resort for removal from scaffold
Window removal to retrieve stranded workers. If possible, haul worker up via an open window
What if a hoist motor is overheated?
Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes & have worker push reset button on hoist
