Brush fires- Should initial attacks include hooking up to hydrants
Initial attack ops should concentrate on mobility. Avoid hooking up to hydrants, except to protect exposures. Heavy emphasis on Indian pumps, Brooms, & Booster lines from BFUs

How shall brush fires be attacked
Flank attack. Avoid attacking/operating in front of fire (only to protect life). Extinguish flanks first then move to interior burning areas

What can a TL be used for at brush fires
Excellent vantage point & can serve as reference point for units operating

Eng Ops at Brush fires (Initial Alarm)
Protect exposures & maintain mobility. Fire attack begins once exposures covered w/Heavy reliance on Indian pumps, brooms, & booster lines from BFU. Stretching HL requires large commitment of staffing & time

Operate in teams of 2. 1 FF w/Indian pump & other w/broom working along perimeter near the head of fire. Do NOT operate in front of fire
