What method is used to open Mortise locks after the cylinder has been removed?
5 o’clock to 7 o’clock principle (keyway is always your 6 o’clock position). If this doesn’t work continue rotating to 9 o’clock or 3 o’clock

How do you force a fox-lock
Halligan shears off top 2 bolts & 1 bottom bolt to expose cylinder. Remove cylinder with K-tool. Use square key tool turning toward bottom bar to unlock
Two types of padlocks are regular & heavy duty. What is the difference
Regular- all padlocks with shackles 1/4” or less and NOT hardened
Heavy duty: padlocks w/shackle of more than 1/4” and hardened
Heavy duty padlock with toe and heel. What does this mean?
Cutting 1 side of shackle will NOT permit removal
NOTE: Bam-Bam can be used on some case hardened locks, but usually ineffective

How do you force an American Lock Series
Aluminum oxide blade or torch used to cut staple or point of attachment to wall, then cut through lock about 2/3 up distance from keyway (NOT bottom of lock), cutting into pieces. Remove pin from security gate
Some windows at ground floor level or fire escape will have window gates behind the glass. By attacking the window gate at _ side, the gate is easily forced
Hinge side (opposite locking device)
This lock is not necessarily centered in the door, but easily recognizable by the large plate covering the lock
Multi-lock. 4 bars, 1 in each direction enter door jamb when lock is engaged
Forcing a Multi-lock
Cut a triangle in lower quadrant of door on doorknob side, large enough to fit your arm through, but small enough to NOT cut the bar
_ found on fronts of smaller stores. Recognized by absence of any raising mechanism at drum level
