Provide information on appointment, resources and seek additional support where required.
What happens during a consultation? (9)
Explain agenda and encourage px participation.
Deliver information in manageable chunks.
Explain healthcare aims of each option and discuss how they align with px aims, priorities and wider goals.
Discuss +/i and consequences of each action.
Clarify what person hopes to gain from a treatment or intervention and discuss any misconceptions.
Set aside enough time to answer Qs and ask the px if they like a further opportunity to discuss options.
Accept px personal views and beliefs.
Make a joint decision on tx.

Summarise decisions made and follow up.
Allow opportunity to contact for further concerns.
Produce resources in preferred format.
