What is Metoclopramide? (1)

Anti-emetic
Acts directly on GIT.

What reactions does Metoclopramide give?
A
Dystonic reactions (facial/skeletal muscle spasms and oculogyric crises.)

What does the EMA state about risks of using Metoclopramide? (2)
A
Neurological effects e.g. short-erm extrapyramidal disorders and tardive dyskinesia.

What is the indication of Metoclopramide? (1)
A
Nausea and Vomiting

What is the usual dosing regimen for Metoclopramide? (3)
A
Only Rx for short-term use up to 5 days.
10mg, repeated up to 3 times a daily.
Max dose = 500mcg/kg.
